ortodoncia invisible en malaga y torremolinos

Orthodontics is a dental treatment aimed at correcting malformations and abnormalities of the teeth in relation to their position in the mouth. It consists of the placement of a dental appliance, which can be fixed or removable, and which is aimed at fixing dental crowding issues.

Nowadays, orthodontics is increasingly important. Indeed, tooth malformations have a social and a medical component. Regarding the latter, a bad bite can lead to gastric problems, poor digestion and other discomfort. With regard to the social component, well-aligned teeth are very important for our aesthetics and helps us feel good about ourselves.

Orthodontics is commonly associated with a treatment for children, but the number of adult patients that request an orthodontic treatment grows more and more. This is because they are unhappy with their smiles or due to functional reasons.

The price of orthodontics varies a lot.

Due to the complexity of this type of treatment, it is not possible to provide a fixed price without doing a previous study of each case.

It is necessary to decide what type of orthodontic treatment and appliance will be used, how long it will last (depending on the dental crowding of each patient), if it is necessary to carry out additional interventions…

Types of Orthodontics

Invisible orthodontics

Invisible orthodontics has the most transparent and inconspicuous appliance in dental aesthetics. At Gross Dentistas we have an scanner that allows us to do a computerized simulation of the treatment in one hour.

Aesthetic orthodontics

The aesthetic bracket appliances are similar to the traditional ones, except for the fact that these brackets are made of ceramic or sapphire, which makes them much more inconspicuous when placed on the tooth, thus being a form of aesthetic orthodontics.

Braces

Metal bracket appliances are perhaps the most popular ones. These consist of square metal objects, the brackets, which are fixed on the tooth with a special glue and joined together by wires and rubber bands.

Children’s orthodontics

Orthodontics in children will be easy with our specialist in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Concha Gros

FAQ about orthodontics

If you have started an orthodontic treatment with another dentist and for personal or work reasons you can’t or you don’t want to continue it in the same place and you are wondering if you can continue the treatment in another clinic, the answer is yes, it could be continued without any kind of issue with another orthodontist.

Firstly, it would be necessary to assess what type of orthodontics and technique the previous orthodontist was using, since there are many types of orthodontics with different techniques and each orthodontist uses one or more depending on the goal to be achieved.

If the doctor you visit for the second time did not use that technique, orthodontics could be removed, cementing a new orthodontics with which the doctor works. In the clinic where the orthodontic treatment is to be continued, a study will be carried out to assess the state from which it starts, with the aim of being able to evaluate them throughout the treatment.

Said study consist of:

  • Photos both of the intraoral and extraoral sides (about 10 photos).
  • Virtual measurements with the intraoral scanner or conventional alginate scanner.
  • X-rays (panoramic radiograph and teleradiography) and if the doctor considers it necessary, a three-dimensional CT.

Once we have all these diagnostic tests, the orthodontist and her team will plan the continuation of the treatment until the best result is obtained, thus being able to continue with orthodontics until obtaining the desired objective and the best result.

Invisible orthodontics is presented as a panacea and an alternative solution to uncomfortable traditional braces. But it is not entirely true since the invisible orthodontic technique cannot be used in all cases.

The doctor must convey to their patients that not all cases can be treated with invisible orthodontics and that the vast majority of complex cases that are treated in this way end up taking more than 3 yearswith metal braces. However, the aesthetic demand has made the invisible system evolve, thus adapting to the needs of our patients and for this reason the All In invisible orthodontic systemwas born, of which the Gross Dentistas clinic is a pioneer in Spain. The All In system and its invisible orthodontics born in the 21st century collects the best of each invisible orthodontic system, becoming the most complete system developed to date.

Orthodontic treatment does not hurt. Orthodontic treatments could be annoying depending on the sensitivity of the patient and the type of orthodontics used.

In this video our Doctor Concha Gross explains everything to you.

These causes are multiple.

Obviously there is a hereditary origin, but the use of a pacifier or thumb sucking can be the cause of this deviation of teeth.

Also the absence of one or several teeth also causes a displacement of the remaining teeth.

Orthodontics corrects the position of overlapping teeth, reduces gaps between teeth, and corrects misalignment between upper and lower teeth.

For children, treatment should ideally be started before the permanent teeth are positioned.

After a complete orthodontic balance, the dentist will be able to determine a treatment and decide when it should be started.

This test can be done from the age of 7, thus allowing development problems to be intercepted.

For any doubt or question, contact Dr. Concha Gross.

When we detect that our teeth are not aligned and we need to improve their position to improve aesthetics and achieve a good bite, we will have to require orthodontic treatment.

From the age of 6 we may have to help ourselves with orthodontics to guide the growth of bones and teeth in children, up to elderly adults who, over the course of the years, have noticed that the teeth have become poorly positioned, reaching sometimes causing daily inconvenience to patients. There are many reasons that can lead us to need the help of an orthodontist.

Dental cleaning during orthodontic treatment is a key part of it. It is very important to keep the teeth healthy and free of bacteria while we are moving them. It will depend on the type of appliance you use (fixed or removable), at the dental clinic we will teach you how to clean it correctly. The important thing is perseverance and following the instructions of the doctor and his team.

Orthodontic treatment reviews are usually performed approximately every 6 weeks. Depending on the type of device or the time of treatment, these revisions can be shortened or lengthened in time.

In the revisions of brackets we will check that they are all correctly attached, we will change the wires progressively and sometimes we will add external elements such as rubber bands or extra wires to help us make certain movements. The revisions will not hurt although sometimes if you are going to notice the more sensitive teeth the following days.

If the treatment is done with removable aligners, the appointments will be shorter. If any attachment has fallen out, we will replace it and check with the virtual treatment plan that the teeth are moving as scheduled. We’ll give you more aligners at your next checkup.

This is one of the great advantages of orthodontics with aligners: you can eat anything! But don’t forget to take them off first.

Being removable you can remove them to be able to eat whenever you want and put them back when you finish. With them on, the recommendation is that you only drink water. Foods, having dyes, will stain your devices and stop being so aesthetic, so we recommend that you remove them to eat.

Removable aligners adapt perfectly to your teeth, causing no friction or discomfort. In general, it will not alter your vocalization, but it depends a lot on each patient.

The way of adaptation, the pain threshold, the sensation of discomfort…, are subjective points that can be highly variable. Although vocalization is not usually affected, it is true that a low number of patients do report having noticed a difference. As you can remove it, if at any time you need to face an important meeting or interview and you fear that your vocalization will be affected, you can remove it. But usually we have patients from singers to teachers who speak

Orthodontics is a specialty that has come a long way over the years, incorporating new appliances that allow us to correct from slight crowding to very severe misalignment of teeth. Crooked, rotated teeth, teeth that have not finished coming out of the bone, open bites, overbites….

We can work in all 3 planes of space to move teeth in any direction. With a good study of the case we will be able to assess the treatment options and in certain very severe cases help us from other specialties within dentistry.

Although orthodontic treatments are sometimes long in time, we will begin to notice the first changes very soon. If you do the treatment with braces, you will see that in the first few months you will feel that they will be almost aligned, with the bite improvement phase being the one that will require more time, but aesthetically you will see many changes very soon.
